The Henley Mermaids are taking part in ‘The One for the Planet Powered by Climategames’, a multi-sport event in June at Dorney Lake, Windsor.

The Henley Mermaids, a group of local water campaigners, are swimming in the first ever in-person Climategames event, where all the activity will fund ecological projects, including removing plastic from the ocean.

The One for the Planet takes place on the 16th June and offers participants the unique opportunity to take part in triathlon, duathlon, aquaswim, aquabike, swim and run events while also contributing to global environmental conservation efforts.

By hosting The One for the Planet in partnership with OneRace Events, Climategames aims to inspire people to save the planet while they train, and to change the future of sporting events, converting exercise into positive action in a simple, and genuine way.

‘We are thrilled that the Henley Mermaids will be joining us at The One for the Planet,’ said Martin Lacey, founder of Climategames. ‘It’s great that a local group of swimmers who align with our values are joining us and we are looking forward to having them at the event.’

On the day there will also be a climate festival area featuring brands and organisations which align with the values of Climategames. There are opportunities for businesses to have a stand in this area.

Registration for The One for the Planet is now open. To sign up visit https://www.onerace.events/the-one-for-the-planet-dorney-jun
